About Gamesley Gamesley is a village on the outskirts of Glossop, just off the Glossop to Marple road (A626). Although parts of Gamesley have existed for many hundreds of years, the bulk of the Gamesley estate has only been here since the 1960's, when Manchester City Council, built the Gamesley estate. The Gamesley estate is one of the Manchester overspill estates built as part of the work to clear poor housing in Manchester. About Gamesley Ward
Gamesley Ward (since the 2003 boundary review) covers the majority of the Gamesley estate area. The map above gives a rough guide of the area the ward covers. The remaining parts (except for most of Glossop Road) of the estate including Cottage Lane are within the Hadfield South Ward, with the majority of Glossop Road been in the Charlesworth Ward. The Ward is part of the Etherow County Council ward which also includes Hadfield, and Tintwistle. Current Local Weather
