Gamesley Early Excellence Centre
Winster Mews - Gamesley


Gamesley Early Excellence Centre is a designated children’s centre with over 50 staff and 28 different services. It is designed to be a ‘one-stop shop’ where families can access nursery education, child care from 0 – 11 years, family support, toy libraries, adult education and crèche. Over 250 families use the centre on a weekly basis. In addition over 300 people access adult education at the Gamesley Life long Learning dept based at the centre.
The centre is open from 7.30am – 6pm all year round
The centre received an excellent Ofsted report which stated that the centre ‘Fully merits its ‘excellence’ status.

The following services are available at the centre:

• CHILD SERVICES
Part time free nursery education for 3-5 year old children
Paid care for children aged 0-5 years
Out of school club care for children aged 4-11 years – children are collected and delivered from 5 local schools in two minibuses
Provision for children with Special Educational Needs
Language and speech therapy group
Free provision for children and families with specific needs
Free pre-nursery sessions for children due to start nursery education
Toy libraries
Creche provision for children whose parents are on courses

Parent and toddler groups
Child minders group
Out reach work and home visiting scheme
Provision for school girl mothers with crèche
Baby massage
New mums group
Family literacy and numeracy groups
Minibus facilities providing family outings and trips


• ADULT SERVICES
23 Adult education classes, all with accreditation
NVQ training and assessment centre
Childminders toy library
Childminders support group
Employment links – Job centre plus, lone parent adviser
Citizens Advice Bureau (Tuesday PM)
Advice and training facilities for early years practitioners and teachers
Parenting classes
Health projects
